About The Lake

Bass Lake Located in Madera County about halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco and about 10 miles east of Oakhurst, lies Bass Lake nestled in among the tall pines and firs of the Sierra National Forest. Bass Lake is only 14 miles away from the southern entrance of Yosemite National Park.

At an elevation of 3400 feet, this 1,165 surface acre lake is a beautiful recreational getaway. There are many camping and picnic facilities located on the south shore that are administered by the U.S. Forest Service. There are also many resorts and marina located around the lake with launching at either end of the lake to accommodate visitors.

There are many different species of fish for every anglers enjoyment including some of the more popular, such as; rainbow and brown trout, black bass, crappie, kokanee salmon, catfish, and a variety of panfish. Water levels at the lake may fluctuate, but are generally maintained through the end of September.
