Regulations
- Speed limit 10 mph. within campgrounds and day-use areas.
- Campfires are prohibited except in authorized campground fire rings.
- Use only down and dead wood. Chainsaws are prohibited.
- Keep pets on leash ( 6' max.) at all times.
- Quiet hours between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.
- Vehicles restricted to designated roads, and parking areas.
- Camping in desgnated campsites only.
- Shoreline camping is prohibited.
- Two vehicles \ Eight person maximum per site.
- Camping is restricted to 14 days within a 30 day period.
Boating Requirements
- Boating laws are enforced.
- Fishing is permitted 24 hours a day. Vehicles and boat trailers may
be parked overnight at any launch ramp parking area.
- No Camping allowed in parking lots or on shorelines.
- Overnight occupancy of anchored vessels is limited to 14 nights in
a 30-day period.
Extreme Conditions:
- Lake level fluctuates. New hazards appear frequently.
Notes
- New Melones Dam was completed in 1979, and is the second largest earth and rock filled dam in the United States.
